Description

Me and You Family Services specialises in facilitating supervised quality time (contact), between children and their families in their local communities. We are a floating service (contact not linked to a specific building). Our uniqueness of being a floating service means that we work all over London and Kent in the local communities of children and their families. Our goal is to restore relationships for families through facilitating supervised contact.

Notes from this centre

We are operating across London and Kent, facilitating contact in the area of your choice.

This centre is accredited to provide supervised contact

Accreditation is a way of checking that your contact centre is safe and meets our standards.

How is a centre checked?

An assessorSomeone working on our behalf who has experience and an interest in child contact services and must assess if a service meets our standards. looks round the centre’s rooms, toys, equipment, and any outside play areas to make sure that they are safe and good for you to use. They talk with the people at the centre to make sure that they are trained and helped to do their job as well as possible. They then check the informationThe assessor checks through the centre’s accreditation portfolio which includes policies, procedures, risk assessments, reports (if the service offers supervised contact) and information for families. on what happens at the centre and how it keeps you safe. If your family time happens in the community The service might use local community venues to deliver their service or in some cases, residential properties including family members’ homes, where this is safe and appropriate., then the assessor will check that this is going to be safe for you.

When the assessor is happy that a centre meets our standards then they are awarded their accreditation and you can find them on this website. Accreditation happens every three years with extra checks if needed.

Accreditation Summary

Date: 04/09/2021

Summary:

Me and You Family Services will be specialised in facilitating supervised quality time (contact), between children and their families in their local communities. They are a floating service (contact not linked to a specific building) managed by two qualified social work managers with over 14 years’ experience.

The service will aim to provide supervised contact in the areas of London, Kent and Surrey. The Directors have spent some considerable time looking at facilities that can be used to facilitate contact services along with a comprehensive risk assessment plan to ensure that all buildings used are safe and appropriate. Visits will be conducted by the Directors who will be the two main supervisors prior to contact sessions commencing. The service will be mainly available at the weekends and on some occasions after school provision will be available.

Additional staff will be on duty and contactable by phone when community contacts take place, being informed of date and time of contact sessions, where the planned contact session is going to take place and time contact is due to end. The worker will contact the duty worker informing them that the session has ended.

Prior to all sessions a thorough risk assessment will be completed as well as strategies if incidents occur. Families will either bring their own toys to the relevant setting or the workers will have checked out the equipment at the setting chosen is clean and safe for the families to use prior to the session commencing. The supervisors are paediatric first aid trained.

At present the workers at Me and You Family Services will not be conducting home visits. The service’s main focus will be contact in the community. If the service later extends to home visits, risk assessments will be completed prior to any contact in the home environment. Children will be bought to the pre-arranged setting by the resident or the service is facilitating a contact session for the local borough, children will be brought to the venue by their foster carer or use the allocated taxi firm registered with the local social services borough.
