Information for professionals working with children and families

This section provides information and guidance for professional working in the child contact sector. It is targeted at social workers, courts, solicitors, teachers and volunteers to support your engagement with child contact centres and services. NACCC provides specific guidance on protocols for contact and referral guidelines and also information on finding a centre, what we do, how to subscribe as an affiliate and frequently asked questions by professionals.

We encourage professional to uses the resources in this section and the wider website to inform and support your work with child contact centres and to ensure we are delivering appropriate and high quality services for children and families.

As part of our response to Covid 19 we have provided on line training to support centres deliver virtual contact, where appropriate, and would encourage centres and professionals to continue to use child contact centres as they re-open and, where necessary, virtual contact to retain relationship between children, parents and their wider family.

Protocols

NACCC has protocols with the judiciary, CAFCASS/CAFCASS CYMRU and family lawyers governing how referrals to centres should be managed.

What we do

NACCC is the supporting membership body for around 350 child contact centres and services located throughout England (including the Channel Isles), Wales and Northern Ireland.

Affiliate subscription

The Affiliate structure is primarily for referral agencies such as family lawyers, local authority departments and the judiciary.
