Do you want to help shape the future of the 17 child contact centres in Wales? Have you got strategic vision and a passion for putting children’s interests first? In 2021/22 1375 children used our centres in Wales. The National Association of Child Contact Centres (NACCC) is looking for a voluntary trustee from the legal sector in Wales to help shape and influence its future strategic direction.

What will you be doing?

The Association accredits 17 supported and supervised centres in Wales, both offering safe spaces where children can meet the parents they don’t live with and enhancing their emotional health and wellbeing.

The role of the Association’s trustees is to support and challenge its Executive and guide the Organisation at this critical time, whilst member centres restore their services in a post pandemic world, with ever increasing referrals from social services and primary care.

What are we looking for?

The Trustee Board is looking to increase its flexibility and the skills it has to handle current and future challenges. The Association has a unique role in what it does and works in close collaboration with partners to deliver its charitable objectives, particularly the Children and Family Court Advisory and Support Service (Cafcass Cymru).

We are especially seeking candidates from the legal sector in Wales who can help us better reflect the diverse composition of our member centre clients whilst also giving us the benefit of their Legal expertise. We are particularly looking for candidates with knowledge and experience of one or more of the following:

  • Solicitor/barrister or other legal background, familiar with the family court system in Wales

We would particularly welcome applications from minority ethnic communities which are currently under-represented on our trustee board.

What difference will you make?

The successful candidate will have a track record of leadership, strategic focus, or personal achievement. As a trustee they will need the ability to influence the strategic direction of the Organisation and have a passion for developing the quality of service provided by the Association. They will also need to act as an ambassador and advocate for NACCC.

What do we expect from our volunteer trustees?

We hold four trustee board meetings per year and an Annual General Meeting. Trustees are also expected to become involved in other activities to support the charity’s aims. To apply, please complete and submit a trustee application pack, or to ask any questions at this stage, please contact contact@naccc.org.uk

The deadline for applications is NOON on Monday 12th December 2022
