We are delighted to celebrate the success of Jigsaw contact centre, a NACCC-accredited centre based in Streatham, South London, which has won B&Q’s Community Day of the Year Award for ‘Best Indoor Project.’
The refurbished space was made possible thanks to B&Q’s Build A Life Project – a community initiative which brought together four local store teams to support the transformation. The project has enabled the centre to expand its service, creating an additional, dedicated space where families can spend meaningful time together in a safe and welcoming environment.
The B&Q team transformed an unused room into a warm and welcoming contact space. The room was refreshed with new flooring, storage, picture frames and plants, creating a calm space for children and parents to enjoy quality family time together.

Last year, the B&Q Foundation’s Build a Life Project supported over 300 charities across the UK, helping to improve indoor and outdoor spaces through refurbishments, garden makeovers and play areas for children. A total of 53 teams submitted their projects for the Community Day of the Year Awards, with Jigsaw named the ‘Indoor Winner.’
Jigsaw Contact Centre Coordinator, Elvedina Letic, said:
The support from B&Q has helped us create a new calm and welcoming space at Jigsaw where families can build healthy relationships. The transformation has made a real difference to the lives of local children, particularly for those with additional learning needs. Thank you to everyone involved in making this project possible and for helping us create a space where families can truly feel at ease.
Anna Peters, Trustee at the B&Q Foundation, visited the centre to tour the newly refurbished space, which was officially opened by the Mayor of Lambeth at a special open afternoon event.

As part of the award, the service will receive a further £1,000 donation to support their ongoing work with families.
The centre now offers multiple thoughtfully designed spaces, including a self-contained flatlet for family time and a larger room equipped with a range of toys and activities for children of different ages.
This recognition highlights the importance of creating safe, welcoming environments where children can feel secure and supported, and where families can reconnect and build positive relationships.
NACCC would like to congratulate the team at Jigsaw Family Contact Centre and St Michael’s Fellowship on this well-deserved achievement and extend thanks to all those involved in making the project possible.
