“We have seen parents waiting in anticipation and some apprehension after relationships have totally broken down. We, the volunteers are there to help make things go smoothly and it is a real joy when after a few minutes a new relationship begins to grow between the adults and children. Do you have a few hours to spare at the weekends and would like to help children in your area?
Volunteers in child contact services need to be impartial, caring, tolerant, sensitive, flexible, discreet and reliable. They must always put children’s needs first and not take sides with either parent or any other adults involved in the contact. Child contact services offer appropriate induction support and training to help you in your role. Please contact your local centre for further details about the role and how much time you would need to give etc.

- The co-ordinator at the centre will answer any queries you may have, explain the application process and will ask you to complete some paperwork.
