The team at Littlehampton Child Contact Centre were delighted to welcome their local MP, Alison Griffiths, to the centre recently, providing an opportunity to showcase the vital support they offer to children and families following separation.
The visit was arranged by Centre Co-ordinator, Jackie Roberts, and Alison was welcomed by the Centre’s Chair, Jane Dahill. During her time at the centre, Alison met with volunteers, spoke with families, and gained a first-hand insight into the services provided by this NACCC-accredited contact centre.
From the moment she arrived, Alison showed a genuine interest in the centre’s work, taking time to ask thoughtful questions and engage with volunteers about their experiences. She spent much of her visit in the contact room, observing children spending time with their fathers in a safe and supportive environment.
Alison also met with a father who had recently begun attending the centre and had asked to speak with her about his experiences. In addition, she spoke with several volunteers, who shared more about the centre’s ethos and the welcoming atmosphere they strive to create for every family.
Drawing on her professional background in marketing and technology, Alison offered a number of practical suggestions to help the centre raise its profile, reach more families, and explore additional sources of funding. The volunteers at Littlehampton Child Contact Centre greatly appreciated Alison’s proactive and thoughtful approach. Her enthusiasm for the centre’s work and commitment to supporting its future development left the team feeling encouraged and positive about the opportunities ahead.
