We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Littlehampton Child Contact Centre on their 15th birthday. Phil from NACCC made the journey down to the south coast to present eleven volunteers with their long service certificates, raise awareness of the work of NACCC and demonstrate how Littlehampton’s role is crucial in supporting local families. Jackie, Co-ordinator heads up the team of volunteers and said:
Our centre would not exist without our committed team of volunteers – some have just joined us and others have been with us for the whole 15 years… a huge thanks to the whole team!
She went on to thank Phil for his excellent presentation about the work of NACCC saying it had inspired everyone attending:
It had the desired effect in opening people’s eyes about the scope of NACCC’s work – I have tried to convey some of this over the years, but hearing it first-hand and with the visual reinforcement of slides really helped to get the message across. You also raised some interesting and thought-provoking points, which got everyone talking – I think we were all rather shocked to hear about how easy it is for anyone to set up a non-accredited contact centre with no checks or scrutiny or accountability whatsoever. We all learnt a lot, so thank you once again for taking time out of your very busy schedule to do this for us.
