NACCC is pleased to welcome the Standards Panel to our head office in Nottingham today and we’re delighted to introduce three new members to the panel: Stuart Agnew and Carolyn Leader from the University of Suffolk, and Colin Jarret, Co-ordinator at Abergavenny Child Contact Centre.

The independent Standards Panel meets twice a year alongside NACCC’s CEO, Elizabeth Coe, and Service Development Manager, Phil Coleman. With Elizabeth attending the annual Local Family Justice Board conference in Birmingham today, Phil took the lead in welcoming the panel and its newest members.

As a registered charity and umbrella organisation, NACCC oversees around 300 child contact centres across the UK, providing ongoing support, training, and guidance to our members. Through a rigorous accreditation process, we set and uphold robust standards to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the families who rely on our centres.

The Standards Panel reviews NACCC’s national standards to ensure our accreditation process consistently reflects the highest levels of quality and integrity. The panel also scrutinises accreditation reports, monitors consistency, and oversees complaints-handling procedures. Its findings are reported annually to NACCC’s Board of Trustees.

The Standards Panel is chaired by Sir Mark Hedley, a retired British judge. Sir Mark practised as a barrister in Liverpool before becoming a full-time circuit judge in 1992. He was appointed a High Court judge in 2002, receiving the customary knighthood, and served in the Family Division. He has been a Vice President of NACCC since 2001.

We are grateful for the panel’s continued dedication to maintaining the exceptional standards that underpin NACCC’s work supporting families across the UK.
